Start Your Engines

This year's Carb Day (2008) didn't even come close to comparing to last year's since it rained almost the ENTIRE time we were there. Such a shame, we were so prepared this time; we had Sharpies, 8x10 copies of some of the pictures we took last year and a checkered flag for drivers to sign as well. We did get Davey Hamilton to sign his picture back in the garage area but that was the only one. After a few hours, it was obvious that nothing was going to take place because the rain would not let up.

Race day arrived with lots of sunshine so we headed to the track early. We dropped off the cooler at our seats and then headed to the track/pit area. Once again there we were walking around all the cars just a few hours before the race was actually going to start. WE LOVE OUR SPECIAL PASSES!

The first celebrity we saw was Drew Lachey; no photo op since he was leaving as we were going in. We saw Julieann Hough in Helio's pit area and John was able to get this great picture of her. Just past Scott Dixon's pit was the ESPN/ABC stage area were Brent Musberger was pre-taping some stuff.

The announcement was made for the "Cold Passes" to leave the track area but we were able to stop long enough to get photos of Tom Carnegie, Jim Nabors & Mary Hulman George.

Not a bad race even though there were waaaay too many yellow flags. We had decent seats, there was drama in the pits between Danica & Briscoe and Scott Dixon (who was on the pole) won.
